Quilting Again

In addition to baking and very much NOT baking (you know, ’cause it’s RAW), I’ve been doing a lot of quilting lately.

My friend and coworker Susan had some dresses that belonged to her mother and asked if I could make a quilt for each of her three children out of them. Who knew her mom was so stylish!

It seemed almost a crime to chop them up, but it had to be done. It was a challenge finding colors that coordinated with all three, but my sister Hannah helped me sort out something that I think works. I was a bit worried that the fabrics were too bold and bright, but Susan loves them! Organizing all of the colors into blocks so that none of them touched each other was rough. Maybe one day I’ll learn to plan first, THEN buy the fabric! But for now, this is what the work in progress looks like:

Two of the three quilts are totally finished, the other is pinned and waiting to be quilted. I’ll post pictures of those tomorrow!
