My first quilt class (as the teacher)

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of teaching this lovely young lady how to quilt.

Imagine, ME teaching someone else how to quilt! I was a bit nervous, to be honest, but it was so much fun and she did a great job, and neither of us was ready for her to leave! She was a very fast learner, and we actually managed to make the entire quilt from start to finish in a few hours. She did all of the work herself, though I held her hand when we used the rotary cutter and supervised the ironing, for obvious reasons. She kept saying she loved the smell of freshly ironed fabric- how stinkin’ cute is she! We talked about color and composition, how to thread the bobbin and use and clean the sewing machine, and different quilting patterns. I was very impressed with her, and more than a little flattered that she was impressed with me.
Didn’t she do a lovely job!?
